Every 2 weeks, I will post a short Q&A of someone who recently traveled and wants to share their gorgeous pictures and experience of what it is like to travel during Covid-19.

This week: Anna Mots!

Who are you?

My name is Anna, I am 19 years old and I live in Amsterdam. I am studying Aviation on the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. So of course I like flying and traveling :)

When did you fly and to where?

I flew to Heraklion, Greece on July 15th very early in the morning!

From which airport and airline?

I departed from Schiphol airport with Transavia (HV5723).

How did you experience flying during Covid-19?

The biggest difference I noticed were the masks, on the way back from Crete the airplane it was really hot so it was not fun to be wearing a mouth mask in the heat for 3.5 hours..

Did you feel safe in the plane?

Yes, I thought Transavia did a good job of keeping everything safe and clean. In advance they explained how everything works and what forms we needed to enter Greece.

How did you like Crete?

I loved it!! The island is much bigger than I thought (because on a world map it is almost invisible). I thought the most beautiful part was the south, for example Matala.

What should someone definitely do in Crete?

Rent a car to see the island. There are so many different parts in Crete (like Chersonissos is really different from Matala) if you want to see as much as possible, the best thing to do is to rent a car. The scenery on Crete is also very pretty.

Did you feel safe there?

Yes I did. The hotel I stayed in was very safe. They had masks and disinfectant gel at the entrance and at the breakfast buffet the guests couldn’t touch anything but the people from the hotel would pick up the food you want.

What is the next destination on your bucket list?

I am doing a road trip through France with my friends this summer vacation! I am also planning on going to Bali in may 2021. But a lot of my travel plans are spontaneous so who knows which destination is next :)
