Porto is the lesser-known destination in Portugal, and is living a bit under the shadow of the capital Lisbon but that does not mean that it is not worth visiting. On the contrary, because Porto looks like a fairy tale!
The Douro river is dividing Porto in two parts, both built on hills.
South of Douro you can find the world famous port wine cellars, let a guide tour you around and taste a delicious Tawny or Ruby. Highly recommended is the Porto Cruz wine cellar, they have a rooftop bar where you can watch down the river for a gorgeous sunset with lovely beats on the background. North is the old town with lots of bars and restaurants at the riverside and many hidden gems as you walk up the hill. The steep streets are tough, but the good thing is that you will have monster calves once back home! Not bad for a citytrip right?
